I know, I know, my obsession with her is unhealthy.
My stomach is permanent preztel mode in spite my new habit of popping the strongest probiotics possible, ESPECIALLY since she had the freakin’ gall to call herself a feminist in the same Katie Couric interview where she says she would counsel a 15-year-old to “choose life” if she became pregnant after being raped.
But at least there’s a silver lining to this black cloud of a lipsticked pit bull (how’s that for mixing metaphors? Must be the acidophilus.): Pakistani women’s rights’ activists have been invigorated by the lascivious behavior of their president, Asif Ali Zardari, when he met with Palin at the UN last week, calling her “gorgeous” and, eyebrows wagging, confiding that now he knows “why the whole of America is crazy about” her.
What a douche. Zardari’s piggy remarks and ogling hold an even bigger sting since he is the widower of the Muslim world’s first female leader, Benazir Bhutto, who was assassinated last December. At least he’s been fatwahed.
And so now all we can do it wait for the debate tonight. Maybe she’ll finally reveal herself as the unqualified, ignorant, judgmental, anti-woman nightmare that she is to the whole of America, or all her days of cramming at the McCain compound in Sedona will pay off as she distracts Biden with her folksy speak and beehive. She may be awful, but she’s not stupid, and I’ve got a full container of DanActive ready to go.

Um... no offense, but the "whole of America" is not against Sarah Palin. She has been thrust into the world's spotlight for many reasons, one of which is very likely someone else's political agenda. That being said, she does have qualifications and should be admired for her despite-being-a-woman and because-she-has-busted-her-a** achievements. Now don't get me wrong. I have serious reservations and disappointments already. I also see certain belief systems I admire. I can say this for each of the candidates at the moment, so the quest continues... I think you misread my sentence. Whether she performs well or not, Sarah Palin will indeed reveal herself tonight to the whole of America (or the portion of it watching, anyway.) And I am well aware there are plenty of people who think Sarah Palin is just peachy - McCain's campaign was teetering on one wooden leg before she was snatched up out of the Alaskan tundra to save it. But I don't think she's qualified to lead this country, and I hold firm that her small-minded perspective will harm America domestically and globally if she's elected. ~Jessica Leigh

I just reread your sentence, changing emphasis, and now see your intention. Crap. Where's the delete key? That being said, I'm glad we had this exchange. This is a healthy forum and exchange of political ideas that many average voters have not discovered. Most of what they hear comes filtered through media or spouse and they feel a bit lost (or fanatical without foundation) at the polling booth. Thanks for being gentle and receptive. Ohhh! I heard about Zardahri's comment to Palin this morning and almost threw up my breakfast (which was, by the by, totally devoid of anything healthy, such as probiotics, such as the Iraqs, therefore, such as the Fruit Loops. . .sorry. I'm in a mood.) I mean, really, under normal circumstances, I'd be like "Pffft. Accept a compliment." But his comment was utterly condescending. I wanted to smack him. Grrr. Of course, the report also mentioned that the last time Pakistani women went on a hunger strike, it wasn't quite up to Ghandi-like proportions. They didn't eat for 12 hours. . .then they all went to lunch. (giggle) Ahhh well. . .can't wait to get home and pop some corn for the debates. (Mmm! More carbs! Just what I need. . .)

Because I simply don't have the stomach to watch the debate. I know who I'm voting for, and I'm sure on Saturday I'll see Tina Fey re-play whatever nonsense spews from Palin's mouth tonight (and I'm DVRing it just in case something awesome happens). However, for those of you watching at home, I would like to share this: Palin Bingo.
Enjoy.
